We are proud to be chosen each time Lee’s Sheet Metal in Grande Prairie needs hoisting done. Roil is continually assisting LSM by lifting all types of rooftop units, ducting, make-up air units, etc., onto rooftops of schools, office buildings, housing developments etc.

The 500+ lbs. vertical electric drive was challenging to remove and reintroduce due to the tight space. It required one of our 3 tons, our new prototype for electric drives, and a reverse jib arrangement. In the photos, you can see just how narrow this lift was, as well as our new prototype electric drive lifter in action!

Long time client and valued partner Fossil Fuel Compression out of Grande Prairie needed assistance with the removal of a Ariel JGJ2 compressor that required repairs. He commission Roil Projects and one of our specially equipped 9 Ton knuckle boom cranes in order to safely and rapidly remove a failed compressor so it could be fixed and minimize the clients down time.

Our expert crew led by ROIL’s Modular Construction Manager, Kyle Copeland, set and levelled 32 boxes (camp shacks) with only a single bed truck! They then installed roofs and floors in the corridors, built all the steps and landing, completed all plumbing, and concluded with the interior finishes in just under 3 weeks. At ROIL, we are proud to bring our thorough yet nimble work ethic to each and every project.

This time-lapse video showcases one of our custom engine lift bars in action. These engineered and certified engine lift bars are custom made for varying engine sizes. Our design allows us to hook onto the engine’s lifting points, and then with our rear-mounted knuckle boom cranes and reverse jibs we are able to expertly navigate the crane inside the building, hook up to our engine lift bar, and extract engines upwards of 10,000lbs through the main doors. Over the years, ROIL Projects has become the leader and innovator in specialty lifting, designing, building and engineering these custom units in order to service our ever-growing unique client base. 

Once we arrived, we cleared the snow off the site and then began meticulously dismantling and readying the outgoing shacks for travel. Finally, we loaded all the boxes onto trucks to be hauled to their next home.

Finally, we worked with the landscapers in order to spread decorative rock onto the rooftops that were visible from the house using a large gravel hopper that we would load with a skid-steer, then swung over the top of the roof sections allowing the landscaping crew to spread it. This project showcases just a few more unique uses for our knuckle boom cranes.
